Der projektraumviktorbucher wurde 1994 gegründet und von Anfang an als „Projektraum“ und nicht als Galerie definiert, als ein „lebendiger- und nicht statischer Ausstellungsraum“ - offen für die unterschiedlichsten Ausdrucksformen künstlerischer Praxis auf hohem Niveau. 1998 zog die Galerie an ihren heutigen Standort in der Praterstraße 13. Das breite Ausstellungs- und Künstler*innenprogramm der Galerie hat interessante- und regional vielfältige junge Positionen nach Wien gebracht - viele zum ersten Mal. Die Ausstellungen haben sowohl in Österreich als auch international kritischen Erfolg erzielt und den Künstler*innen dabei geholfen, sich auch international zu entwickeln und zu behaupten.

Ich halte es mit meinen künstlerischen Zielsetzungen wohl eher mit dem Versprechen des Pop, dass „Kunst mehr ein Erlebnis als Sammelgegenstand sei, dass sie nicht als Mobiliar des Kulturreservats Museum, sondern in der Welt ihre verändernde Kraft entfalten müsse“. Und wenn jemand Kunst kauft, ist das in erster Linie eine wichtige Kunstförderung denn eine spekulative Investition.

projektraumviktorbucher was founded in 1994 and defined from the start as a "project space" and not as a "gallery", as a "living" and non-static exhibition space - open to the most varied forms of expression of artistic practice at a high level. In 1998 the gallery moved to its present location in Praterstrasse 13. The gallery's broad program of exhibitions and artists has brought interesting and regionally diverse young practitioners to Vienna - many for the first time.

Exhibitions have gained critical success in Austria and internationally, and have helped artists to develop and assert themselves strongly on an international level.

In my artistic approach, I probably stick to the promise of pop that "art is more of an experience than a collector's item, that it should develop its changing power in the world rather than as furniture in the museum's cultural reserve". And when someone buys art, it is primarily an important art grant rather than a speculative investment.
